OpenAI to Terminate Model Services to Cursor, Elon Musk Responds
According to multiple foreign media reports, on the 28th local time, OpenAI announced plans to stop providing model services to Cursor, an AI programming platform and code editor owned by SpaceX. OpenAI stated on social media that it had notified SpaceX, with the proposed termination date set for November 12, 2026.
OpenAI stated that the decision was based on "past experiences." Because multiple companies under Elon Musk had previously engaged in breaches of contract, they cannot be assured that SpaceX will use the technology within the framework of the terms of service. In response, Musk stated on the X platform that he "couldn't care less," and called OpenAI CEO Altman and President Brockman "completely untrustworthy, having stolen an open-source non-profit organization.
" In June this year, SpaceX announced it would acquire Cursor's parent company, Anysphere, in an all-stock transaction worth $60 billion, and completed the acquisition earlier this month. It is reported that Musk previously filed a $150 billion lawsuit against OpenAI, accusing OpenAI and Altman of abandoning their original non-profit mission. OpenAI, on the other hand, stated that Musk was attempting to seize control of the company.
