Drone Footage Captures Glacier Collapse Behind Deadly Mudslide on China-Nepal Border
Two drone videos posted on Xiaohongshu and verified by the BBC capture the moment a glacier collapsed on Mount Langtang Lirung in the Himalayas, triggering a deadly mudslide along the China-Nepal border. The peak stands at an altitude of approximately 7,200 meters, with dust from the collapse soaring into the sky. So far, Nepal has reported 547 deaths within its borders.
Additionally, 575 foreign tourists are missing, including 183 Indian, 65 American, 62 Ukrainian, and 33 British citizens, along with 149 missing Nepali tourists. In China's Tibet region, 5 deaths and 558 missing people have been reported, including 260 foreigners.
