Valve 12TB Leak Reveals Early Portal 2 Build, Half-Life 2: Episode Three Clues
According to a report today by gaming media outlet EuroGamer, 12TB of Valve's game development data has recently leaked. Spanning from 2003 to 2013, many players are hoping to find the long-cancelled Half-Life 2: Episode Three within these files.
X user Gabe Follower stated on Friday that the files contain early versions of Portal 2, Left 4 Dead, and CS:GO.
Specifically, the leaked files include a Portal 2 Beta from around 2009, as well as the "Weaponizer" weapon model. This weapon was previously believed to be related to Half-Life 2: Episode Three, though it was never officially confirmed.
Per the original report, players also discovered a Left 4 Dead 2 Beta build from 2008, which includes an early HUD, a lobby interface, and some cut voice lines.
Furthermore, this batch of materials originated from Valve's former Steam2 content distribution infrastructure. Valve gradually phased out this system in the early 2010s, transitioning to SteamPipe.
