IT Home, August 30 — Recently, some passengers reported that after purchasing second-class tickets for a Fuxing train, a temporary swap to a Hexing train resulted in a seat shortage, leaving them with standing-room-only tickets.

This afternoon, China Railway Harbin Group Co., Ltd. officially issued a statement. IT Home attaches the original text below:

Statement on the Temporary Train Swap for G116 on August 28

On August 28, the train assigned to the G116 service from Harbin West to Beijing Chaoyang experienced a sudden malfunction at Harbin West Station. To ensure the train departed on time, the railway department took emergency measures by temporarily deploying a backup train.

During the handling of the situation, due to unequal seating capacity between the scheduled Fuxing train and the backup Hexing train, as well as inadequate information communication, some passengers boarding at Changchun West Station were not assigned seats. During this time, station and train staff coordinated to distribute free emergency meals and provide folding chairs in an effort to minimize the impact on passengers' travel.

The railway department deeply apologizes for the inconvenience caused to passengers by the shortcomings in the temporary train adjustment and emergency organization. Going forward, the department will earnestly learn from this experience, continuously improve its work, and strive to ensure smooth travel for passengers.
